Description
Citrus-Marinated Grilled Steak
Ingredients
- Steak (your preferred cut)
- Olive oil
- Dried oregano
- Salt and pepper
- Orange juice
- Lime juice
- Vinegar
- Orange slices
Marinate the Steak
Place the steak in a shallow glass baking dish. Rub both sides with a small amount of oil. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper. Pour orange juice, lime juice, and vinegar over the steak. Cover the dish and refrigerate. For best flavor, marinate overnight. If short on time, a few hours will still work. Turn the steak occasionally to ensure even flavor absorption.
Prepare the Grill
Before cooking, bring the steak to room temperature. Preheat a charcoal or gas grill. Make sure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
Grill the Steak
Drain the marinade from the steak, reserving it for basting. Place the steak on the preheated grill. Add orange slices on top for extra flavor. As the steak cooks, occasionally spoon the reserved marinade over it. Grill the steak for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time for your preferred doneness.
Rotate and Baste
When turning the steak, remove the orange slices, flip the steak, and then replace the orange slices on top. Continue to baste with the reserved marinade to enhance flavor and juiciness.
Serving
Once the steak reaches your desired doneness, remove it from the grill. Allow it to rest for a few minutes before slicing to retain juices. Serve with the grilled orange slices for a fresh, citrusy accent.
Tips
- Use a meat thermometer for precise doneness.
- Pair with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- Adjust seasoning and citrus amounts to suit your taste preferences.
